Cami Jewett was born in Belfast, Maine, and raised in Liberty, Maine. Her parents were hardworking farmers who were born in Liberty, where she and her brothers helped with the family business from a young age. After graduating from high school she had years of various work experience, including being a Certified Nurses Aide, a waitress, a hotel front desk person at a ski resort, a fisherman in the Bering Sea, working for a brick and waterproofing company, working with mentally and physically disabled adults, and a potter, in Maine, Alaska, Florida and Massachusetts. In 1996 Cami decided to become an entrepreneur.
She was working as a potter and began to clean homes on a part time basis for a local cleaning service. Using her entrepreneurial skills, she decided that starting a cleaning business of her own would be a good fit for her and raising her daughter. Cami’s Cleaning Services was born. She started cleaning homes and vacation rental properties in Camden ME, and her business grew quickly by word of mouth.
Today Allegro Cleaning Services (formerly known as Cami’s Cleaning) continues to grow and is centered in Camden and covers an area from Belfast to Owl’s Head. Allegro Cleaning Services cleans individual homes, residential properties and businesses. During the busy summer season it employs 15-20 staff to clean residential summer and vacation rental properties, boats and restaurants. A.C.S. also services housekeeping at McLean Borden Cottage, a large recovery facility, year round.
In her free time, Cami loves all things music, from going to local performances to playing fiddle and piano in local jams and bands.
